The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado occurred Thursday at Blacklick Valley High School in Cambria County.
Weather officials say that the tornado, captured in multiple videos and pictures Thursday evening, was a weak, EF-0 tornado.
Weather officials worked with the Cambria County Department of Emergency Services to confirm the twister.
The tornado occurred just north of Nanty Glo from about 6:10 p.m. to 6:11 p.m., officials say.
They say the twister had peak winds of 70 miles per hour, had a width of 15 yards and traveled 350 feet.
The tornado developed on the western side of the Blacklick Valley High School football field and moved southeast across the field before lifting on the eastern side of the field.

Former employee files lawsuit against Cambria County | News, Sports, Jobs

A former employee of the Cambria County Department of Emergency Services has filed a federal lawsuit alleging that she lost her job last year as a telecommunicator after complaining to her supervisors about a hostile work environment.
The lawsuit was filed last week in the U.S. District Court in Johnstown by Pittsburgh attorney Colleen Ramage Johnston.
It has been referred to the court’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program, which offers ways to resolve legal disputes out of court.
Christy L. Janciga, who stated in her complaint that she is a Caucasian mother of a bi-racial child, and that while at work, she was subjected to a “racially and sexually hostile work environment on a regular basis.”
