We have often shared with you how our government has broken their promises to care for our wounded veterans and ignored their pleas for help. We have also asked your support in assisting Camp Jack right this wrong. So far, our amazing family of volunteers and supporters have done an outstanding job.
This Monday marks the 3 rd anniversary of when Camp Jack first opened its doors. The past 36 months has been a blur of activity during which dedicated volunteers have helped thousands of local veterans and their families live better lives. I am not sure how or when, but at some point Camp Jack took on a life of its own growing into this “Thing” I am still not exactly sure how to describe.

Members of the boards of the Ozark Arts Council (OAC) and Camp Jack gathered together in the Lyric Theater's lobby on Monday, Jan. 29, to forge plans for a collaborative initiative. The joint effort — "M*A*S*H ‘Em Up For Veterans," seeks to raise over $40,000 through a multi-faceted fundraising campaign. The two groups’ efforts will culminate in a two-weekend performance of the one-act play, "M*A*S*H," at the historic Lyric Theater this November. A special performance of the show will be given after the Veterans Day parade on Nov. 11.
North Arkansas College FBLA Collegiate will host a Wreaths Across America event at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 16, at Maplewood Cemetery. The group will have 204 wreaths to decorate the graves of those who served in the US military and an additional 12 to be placed at Maple Leaf Cemetery. The group received extra wreaths via a grant from Walmart and Wreaths Across America sent a few extras as well.
