Western Illinois University has announced changes and updates concerning COVID-19 protocols, testing and more.

Mandatory weekly testing remains in place for Western Illinois University faculty, staff and students* who are unvaccinated and who are physically on WIU's campuses. Testing is held on the Macomb and Quad Cities campuses. Surveillance testing has been discontinued at this time. Protocols, including testing, face coverings and other measures, could change depending on circumstances and health guidance.

WIU COVID19 Update: Conclusion of Gateway Testing, Beginning of Weekly Testing Phase with New Hours, At Home Kits, KN95 Masks Available & More - Western Illinois University News

Western Illinois University will continue with the mandatory gateway testing on the Macomb and Quad Cities campuses for the remainder of this week (through Thursday, Jan. 27). Mandatory weekly testing for individuals who are not vaccinated will resume Monday, Jan. 31.

Spring 2022 Updated COVID-19 Policies, Procedures - Western Illinois University News

As Western Illinois University plans to resume the traditional in-person experience beginning Jan. 18, 2022, to help ensure the health and safety of the members of University community and beyond, updated COVID-19 policies and procedures have been set for the Spring 2022 semester, including mandatory gateway testing for all faculty, staff and students, regardless of vaccination status.
