Judge David Grand ruled on Monday that Mercer, 27, be detained until his Feb. 9 preliminary examination. Grand said Mercer's actions show him to be an extreme danger to the community.
"Our confidence and the way we present ourselves on that stage, all together as one energy, that's something we learned here in Detroit, and we took that out to the world and found people really resonated with it."
