Steve Gardner, Kandiyohi County commissioner, read a statement at Tuesday's meeting in support of County Administrator Kelsey Baker, who is a finalist for the city of West Fargo, North Dakota, administrator job.
The Kandiyohi County Board on Tuesday approved the employment agreement with Kelsey Baker, officially making her the next county administrator. She will be replacing current administrator Larry Kleindl, who is retiring in February.
Following a months-long application process and an intense day of interviews Tuesday, Kelsey Baker was named the Kandiyohi County Board's choice for the county's next administrator. For the past five years, Baker has served as the administrator for Swift County, and it was that experience that put Baker above the other two finalists.
The Kandiyohi County Board interviewed the three finalists Tuesday for the county administrator position. In a unanimous vote they will offer the position to Kelsey Baker, the current county administrator of Swift County. Current Kandiyohi County administrator Larry Kleindl is set to retire in February.
