Age 70 of Proctor, Carly to his family and friends, and one of God’s special children, was called home on the 28th of October at his residence in Proctor; surrounded by his good friends and the caring staff of Duluth Regional Care Center. Carl was born in Duluth, Minnesota on the 20th of April, 1953 to Carl H. Nelson of Duluth and Helen E. (Peterson) of Shaw. Carl will be remembered by his big smile and sense of humor, his love of the Minnesota Vikings, music, word puzzle books, jigsaw puzzles, and the enjoyment of a pickle for a snack. Carl was a client of the Saint Louis County Social Services Department, and the United Developmental Achievement Center for many years (working in their mailroom); for which the family wish to recognize the care and effort that they have extended to Carl’s well being over the decades. Carl loved his family and was loved in return, enjoyed being a track runner in the Special Olympics (winning several ribbons and medals), bowling, dancing, eating out ....
