Calls For More Clare Women To Be Put On Local & National Election Tickets

Calls are mounting on political parties to ensure more women in Clare are put on both local and national election tickets in the future.
It comes as the Citizen’s Assembly has recommended the extension of 40 percent gender quotas for local, Seanad and European elections from the end of next year.
The proposals would also see an increase in penalties for political parties that don’t meet the assigned quotas.
