Two scholarships to be rewarded in honor of former CCS Superintendent

Former Cabarrus County Schools Superintendent Dr. Chris Lowder s former Board members and colleagues, and other friends, are honoring his 30-year career serving CCS through the formation of two scholarships.
One scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who has attended CCS for at least their full senior year, and is enrolled in a certificate or degree program for the 2021-22 academic year.
The second will be awarded to a staff member who has been employed by CCS since at least the prior July 1 and is enrolled in a certificate or degree program relevant to their career in CCS. Each award is expected to be for $1,000, payable to the educational institution, with the goal to provide the two scholarships each year for at least five years. ....

World Energy Council report finds that energy leadersâ perceptions of risk and strategic priorities have changed
Energy industry leaders perceptions of risk, opportunities and priorities have all âradically changedâ over the past year, according to the World Energy Council s (WEC s) annual World Energy Issues Monitor report, published today.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Covid-19 pandemic and associated economic turbulence was the biggest source of uncertainty among the 2,500 surveyed across 108 countries. Indeed, uncertainty around economic trends increased by a third in the 12th year of the report over last yearâs edition.
The WEC, an international network of energy stakeholders, also found there is a growing focus on the social agenda associated with the energy transition, with increased awareness ....

Hanson's CCS feasibility study gets the green light

HyNet North West has been awarded funding totalling £72 million to create the world’s first low carbon industrial cluster through its development of a hydrogen and carbon capture and storage (CCS) project.
As a consortium partner, the announcement gives Hanson the green light to carry out a CCS feasibility study at its Padeswood cement works near Mold, Flintshire. This will provide a clear design basis and cost estimate for a carbon capture plant and connection to the planned HyNet North West CO
2 transport and storage system.
The UK Government recognises the decarbonising of industrial clusters as an essential part of the journey to net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, as described in its 10 Point Plan for a Green Industrial Revolution. ....
