Is the census a legal requirement? How you could be fined £1,000 if you fail to do it

You must complete the census - it is a law.
After Census Day has passed, census field officers will visit households where a completed census form has not been submitted.
These officers will encourage people to complete the form.
The field officers will not enter people’s homes and will wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
