An extra 25 officers have begun patrolling busy areas in Camden to improve the safety of communities in the borough.

A teenager has been left partially blind after robbers smashed him in the face with a baton during a violent attack in north London.   The 19-year-old was ambushed by two men as he walked along the street in Canonbury Road, Islington.  One stole his bag and then repeatedly hit him around the face with a baton-style weapon.   Police and paramedics found the victim with severe “life-changing” facial injuries following the attack, which took place at about 7pm on December 29.
