University administrators — President John Floros, Senior Vice President for Administration and Finance Andy Burke and Vice President for Student Success Renay Scott — laid out the cuts in a virtual town hall Tuesday. The cuts — necessary after the COVID-19 pandemic took a toll on the economy — are less than what was expected months ago, administrators said. The university enacted a hiring freeze and launched a voluntary retirement program last year that was meant to keep layoffs at a minimum.
