Wright Twp. Police Chief Royce Engler has been working for nearly a year without a contract, but township officials are mum about the status of a new pact for the 42-year veteran. At last week’s township supervisors meeting, supervisor Donald Zampetti asked why the contract was not on the agenda. Zampetti said it was his understanding an agreement on a new pact was reached in November. “Why haven’t we voted on this?” Zampetti asked. Zampetti was told by board chairman Matthew Howton that the contract was a personnel matter and could not be discussed at a public meeting. So...
