Solemn ceremonies, but no parade for Memorial Day in Plymouth
PLYMOUTH – Memorial Day will be a subdued day of remembrance in Plymouth this year. With little warning that the state would lift COVID-19 restrictions, local veterans opted to remember its war dead in solemn, but dignified fashion on Monday, May 31. Rather than the usual parade through downtown to war memorials, a small contingent from VFW Post 1822 and American Legion Post 40 will make the rounds in an refurbished Army jeep, laying wreaths and offering prayers and thanks for those who made the ultimately sacrifice.
