New Skyway 3 Toll Fees To Be Implemented July 12

It’s been a long time coming.
In a statement from SMC President and Chief Operating Officer Ramon Ang, he said that the new toll matrix approved by the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) takes into consideration the effects of the pandemic on the economy and on Filipinos. Chalk one up for Good Guy Ramon Ang.
But it seems like the days of free, fast-track travel along the newly minted Skyway 3 is over as the contractor, San Miguel Corp. (SMC), is collecting toll on the Skyway Stage 3 beginning today, July 12. According to SMC, the implemented toll matrix is lower than the original proposed toll fees, particularly for the travel between near exits.

Two of the three lanes of the Skyway Extension's northbound section have been opened with tolls for the four-kilometer segment waived until further notice, private proponent San Miguel Corp. (SMC) announced Monday.
SMC said the four-kilometer stretch from Susana Heights to Sucat in Paranaque was opened to Class 1 vehicles with RFID starting 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 11, 2021. Structural completion and asphalt-laying were completed in March.
"We are confident that this will further reduce congestion along EDSA and usher growth to provinces in Southern Luzon and beyond," SMC President and Chief Operating Officer Ramon Ang said in a statement.

San Miguel Corporation President and Chief Operating Officer Ramon Ang
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 10) — San Miguel Corporation President and Chief Operating Officer Ramon Ang on Saturday clarified reports he was endorsing Senator Manny Pacquiao's possible presidential run in 2022.
CNN Philippines reached out to Mr. Ang to seek his clarification.
Ang said the comments attributed to him were taken out of context from a broad discussion he was having with journalists about the upcoming election.
Ang revealed that a follow-up question was made about who he thinks would win if elections were held today. While Ang said he did not want to make any statement or forecast about politics, the topic of "fearless forecasts" in hypothetical scenarios persisted.

Skyway 3 to remain toll free until TRB approves rates

(MARK VILLAR FACEBOOK / MANILA BULLETIN)
The San Miguel Corporation (SMC) had earlier announced that it will start collecting toll on the newly opened elevated expressway after February 1, more than a month after keeping it toll free.
“Toll collection will only be allowed after the TRB gives its approval. The toll matrix shall be published once approval is made,” he said.
Based on the proposed toll rates submitted by the San Miguel Holdings Corp., the operator of Skyway Stage 3, toll rates range from P110 to P274.
Motorists who will use the 18.8-kilometer stretch of the expressway or from Makati to Quezon City would pay P274 toll.
