The Indian IT industry now accounts for 8% of India’s GDP and has a 52% share in services exports from the country.
Mumbai | Bengaluru: National Association of Software and Service Companies (Nasscom) has said that the Indian IT industry is pegged to report revenue of $194 billion in FY21 at a growth rate of 2.3% year on-year.
The three key areas of technology that the IT industry will focus on building offerings in are artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and internet of things. “One of our biggest focuses is on developing a very strong ecosystem and regulatory framework for these three technologies,” said Debjani Ghosh, president at Nasscom.

IT industry body Nasscom on Friday said its annual NTLF event this year will focus on the road ahead for a hyper-digital future and the importance of responsible tech, and will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The 29th edition of NTLF (Nasscom Technology and Leadership Forum)- which will be held online for the first time in its history - is scheduled for February 17-19.

NEW DELHI, Dec 29: COVID-19 may have thrown curveballs this year but the USD 191 billion-Indian IT sector has shown resilience and 2021 promises more growth opportunities as digital spends go up to tackle the challenges amid the ‘new normal’.
Rapid rise in corona cases at the beginning of the year led to governments enforcing lockdowns in various countries, including India. This posed twin challenges for Indian IT firms — how to ensure business continuity for customers and how to ensure safety of their own staff.
IT firms like Infosys, Wipro and Tech Mahindra booked chartered flights to bring home employees and their families, who were stranded overseas due to the pandemic and visa issues. And almost overnight, IT companies — big and small — embraced work from home.
