“I very much look forward to the job that you’re going to do on behalf of our residents to keep our families safe,” said city Mayor Deaglan McEachern.
He began his career in Portsmouth in 1990 and is lined up to replace retiring Chief Todd Germain later this summer.
Lt. Casluh "Cassie" Chamberlain is a 15-year firefighting veteran and has worked with the Portsmouth Fire Department for seven years.
“It has been an honor and a privilege to rise up through the ranks and eventually lead this department,” Germain wrote.
Fire Chief Todd Germain said the bones are donated and the station goes through about seven pounds a week in the summer months because they get so many four-legged visitors.
