LAHORE:
Punjab Forest Department has decided to launch work on the creation of five new national parks in the province during the coming financial year.
Allocations for the projects are reportedly included in the provincial budget proposals. The establishment of the five new national parks under the Green Pakistan Programme of the prime minister and chief minister of Punjab is estimated to cost Rs978.78 million. The creation of new parks in addition to the normal expenditure of the department and ongoing development projects has reportedly been included in the budget.

JHELUM/ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday said the government was doing all to promote tourism and generate employment opportunities for youth in Pakistan, which was bestowed with abundant natural resources including sea, high mountains, salt ranges and historical sites.
“The preservation and protection of our historical sites and national heritage is also essential to keep the coming generations informed about history,” Imran Khan said after inaugurating the heritage trail at the Al Biruni point (Baghan Wala Village) at the Nandana Fort in district Jhelum.
The project was undertaken as part of the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan forthe promotion of tourism and in line with the National Tourism Strategy 2020-30. Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Ahmad Chaudhry, Special Assistant to PM Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari, Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar and senior officers were also present on the occasion.

GUJAR KHAN: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said Pakistan can provide a multiplicity of choices for tourists that no other country can, elaborating on the diversity of opportunities to be found in the country — from its long coastline to some of the world’s tallest mountains and heritage sites, including those belonging to ancient civilisations.
He expressed these views after inaugurating the heritage trail project at Al-Bairuni Point (Baghan Wala Village) at Nandana Fort in Jhelum district on Sunday. The trail in Pind Dadan Khan, the premier said, would be the gateway to seven archaeological sites, including Nandana Fort, Shiva Temple, Tilla Joggian, Khewra Salt Mines, Mallot Fort and Takht-i-Babri.

Chinji National Park to become attractive destination for eco-tourism

Islamabad : The Chinji National Park spreading over an area of 10,052 acres is likely to become one of the best destinations for local and foreign tourists due to its unique location and rare animal and bird species.
According to the details, this national park would also serve as a ‘model park’ because it would help achieve three main targets including the promotion of eco-tourism, protection of the natural environment and increase in green employment opportunities.
While providing details about the Chinji Park Secretary of climate change ministry Naheed Shah Durrani said the Chinji Park was established in 1987 in Talagang District and declared a protected area under a special category of International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

Malik Amin said the National Park was declared a forest reserve in 1987 and only existed on papers.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam Monday inaugurated the long ignored Chinji National Park lying in the heart of salt range which was established after 33 years since it was declared a reserve forest.
Addressing the inauguration of a state of the art information center and watch tower established at Chinji National Park, he said the National Park was declared a forest reserve in 1987 and only existed on papers where the Ministry of Climate Change in cooperation with the provincial Forest Department materialised the forest reserve project.
