Scheming care home worker, 54, faked terminal breast cancer

A scheming care home worker faked having terminal breast cancer to fool her colleagues out of £1,300 to help pay for her wedding.
Julie Parker, 54, - then Julie Newman - falsely claimed she had 12 months to live before announcing her engagement to fellow carer David Parker.
Staff and residents at the care home where the couple worked then had a collection, organised the Parkers' wedding reception and even booked the pair a night away in a hotel.
They also paid for £300 worth of presents, bringing the total spent to £1,292.
However, those at Bankfield House Residential Care Home in Stockport, Greater Manchester soon began to notice the newlywed Mrs Parker showed no signs of ill health.
