AUBURN - When the 1-year-old dog she'd adopted a week earlier got spooked and ran off from her home, Cindy Kelson did what any frantic dog owner would do: She went out searching. And after spending hours in a winter storm, scouring her neighborhood near Elmwood Street, talking to every snowplow driver and never catching a glimpse of Gwen, a white Great Pyrenees mix, she went home, worried and sad.
