Nancy Boockholdt Plylar, age 76, of Oneonta, AL passed away on May 12, 2021. Nancy was born in Birmingham, AL, where she grew up and graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1964. After briefly attending The University of Alabama, she left to marry and to start a family. Over the next decade and more she went back to school while raising a family, eventually earning a Bachelor’s degree at Montclair State and her Masters degree at UAB as a professional counselor. Alabama prison system reports 5 more inmates with COVID-19 have died Updated Dec 10, 2020; The ADOC has now reported a total of 43 deaths related to the coronavirus. Two weeks ago, the Associated Press reported that Alabama had the nation’s ninth highest rate of inmate deaths per 100,000 according to a report compiled by AP and the Marshall Project. Four of the deaths announced today have happened since Monday. Jeffery Bailey, 58, died Nov. 27.
