Churches plan for Easter services in different ways amid pandemic

Churches plan for Easter services in different ways amid pandemic
How churches are handling Easter Sunday
By WBRC Staff | April 1, 2021 at 10:14 PM CDT - Updated April 1 at 10:14 PM
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Many churches had to cancel Easter services last year because the holiday fell right after the shutdowns began. This year, there are signs of hope, giving many churches an optimistic message heading into the holiday.
In Rock Creek, Union Hill Baptist is holding two Easter services, allowing for lots of room to space out.
“An 8:30 with no childcare, a 10:30 with childcare,” Pastor Mike Stevens told WBRC.
In addition to spacing, pews have hand sanitizer, and the services are offered virtually as well. Regardless of how people attend services, Pastor Stevens says this Easter is special.
