China has been refusing to cooperate with the Enforcement Directorate's summons to Neville Roy Singham, who is alleged to have funneled funds to media portal NewsClick. The Indian authorities have issued fresh summons through the ministry of external affairs to request Singham's presence in India for questioning. Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate plans to seek custodial interrogation of NewsClick promoter Prabir Purkayastha, who is currently in judicial custody.
