Lydia Ko moved closer to her first victory in 14 months, shooting a 4-under 68 on Saturday to take a two-shot lead into the final round of the LPGA Tour's season-opening Tournament of Champions. The 26-year-old from New Zealand is seeking her 20th career victory and first since the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship in 2022. A win would also leave Ko one victory short of the World Golf Hall of Fame.
After Nicole Kidman teased a potential third season of "Big Little Lies" last month, her co-star Laura Dern shared what she knows about another season of the hit HBO show.
Nasa Hataoka had a strong start and Amy Yang had a hot finish, finishing with a share of the lead in the CME Group Tour Championship with 18 holes left and $2 million on the line. Yang had four birdies on her final six holes at Tiburon for an 8-under 64. Hataoka set the pace early with five birdies in her first 11 holes and finished with a 65.
Ruoning Yin hit the ball so poorly on the practice range that she wasn't expecting much Thursday in the CME Group Tour Championship. The big surprise was a 9-under 63 and a share of the lead with Nasa Hataoka in the chase for the $2 million prize. Yin opened with five birdies through eight holes, played bogey-free and got a bonus at the end when her fairway metal took a good hop off the collar and onto the green at the par-5 17th for one last birdie.
Alison Lee birdied four of her last five holes Friday to extend a hot streak that stretches from Saudi Arabia to South Korea to Florida. Lee had five birdies in seven holes at the start, and then had a strong finishing kick that included a wedge to a foot on the 15th and a 12-foot birdie putt on the 18th. The 28-year-old Californian has never won in her nine years on the LPGA Tour, but no one brought as much momentum.
