Bengaluru, Feb 21: The High Court hearing on the hijab row entered the eight day on Monday, with a 3-judge bench presiding over the matter.
Police have tightened security across the town and the district administration has declared a holiday for schools and colleges on Monday to prevent any untoward incidents. Authorities have also imposed prohibitory orders.
Reacting to the hijab controversy, Home Minister Amit Shah Monday said he believes the dress code prescribed by the schools and colleges should be followed by all the students, irrespective of their religion.
Bengaluru, Feb 21: The High Court hearing on the hijab row entered the seventh day on Monday, with a 3-judge bench presiding over the matter. Meanwhile, Bengaluru Police Commissioner Kamal Pant extended prohibitory order in wake of the hijab row protests till March 8.
Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Saturday blamed “outsiders” for creating confusion in schools and colleges over the hijab row. “It’s very simple. There’s a High Court order that everyone has to follow. While doing that, there are outsiders getting involved. That’s why there’s so much confusion,” Bommai told reporters, without elaborating on who the outsiders are.
