House Speaker Shekarchi s law office in Warwick hit by 2-alarm fire

WARWICK  A two-alarm fire swept the law office of RI House Speaker Joseph Shekarchi Tuesday night. Firefighters were called to a commercial building at 33 College Hill Rd., an office park on a short street that connects Bald Hill Road (Route 2) with the nearly parallel Commonwealth Avenue, a little after 10 p.m.  Multiple professional office buildings around a central parking area share the address of 33 College Hill Rd, but a sign outside the building with the fire identified it as the law office of Joseph Shekarchi. Speaker Shekarchi shares the office with his sister, Mary, and his brother, John, both of whom have the Shekarchi last name.

Photo / Greg Bowker Four upper North Island supermarkets worth tens of millions of dollars are being sold in a musical chairs-style of transactions triggered by the pending sale of what is thought to be New Zealand s biggest revenue-earning store. Stores in the Foodstuffs North Island co-operative at Albany, College Hill, Birkenhead and Te Kuiti are said by insiders to be changing hands because owner/operators can only control one outlet at any one time. All the deals are said to be triggered by the pending sale in August of Pak nSave Albany which is said by insiders to then spark ownership changes to New World Victoria Park and possibly New Worlds at Birkenhead and Te Kuiti.
