EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - University of Evansville President Christopher Pietruszkiewicz has announced a new realignment plan with fewer cuts.
The plan will be presented to the board Friday.
Last December, UE announced an academic realignment plan that would possibly have eliminated 17 majors from the university.
Thursday’s announcement includes changes to academics, athletics and administration.
Officials say it ensures that UE will continue to offer 75+ majors and remain a part of Division I athletics.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Multiple programs and faculty positions could be cut at the University of Evansville.
On Thursday, the President’s Council presented a proposed academic realignment plan, which is a response to higher education demographic changes and for better future financial footing.
UE’s fall semester wrapped up on Wednesday. This semester looked a lot different because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and now lasting changes might be coming to campus in the coming years.
