COLORADO SPRINGS — Mother s Day is one of the busiest holidays for restaurants.
Alike most restaurants on Mother s Day last year, Paravicini s Italian Bistro had to come up with new ways to feed their customers when indoor dining was unavailable.
It was different in the fact that you would just see people in their cars and couldn t have a conversation with them, said Albert Dominguez, manager at Paravicini s Italian Bistro.
However, Mother s Day this year will be a bit different!
You can have a conversation with them and make them happy and see the smiles on their faces! said Dominguez.

COLORADO SPRINGS — The odds were against most businesses in 2020.
It was just a real sad time, a sad time in world history, said Perry Sanders, Owner of the Mining Exchange and Antlers Hotel.
Despite the pandemic, retailers in downtown Colorado Springs made it through.
The Downtown Partnership released its annual State of Downtown report last week which showed some decline, but a lot of progress.
According to the report, in 2020 there were 21 new store fronts in downtown, including Clay Venues.
We opened this kind of mid-pandemic, we were open last year and had a couple events, called them COVID events, said Becky Nuttall, Owner of Clay Venues.

COLORADO SPRINGS — For months, both federal and state officials have been asking people to wear masks, not just inside businesses, but also while out enjoying Colorado s parks and open spaces.
However, on Tuesday, the CDC announced that fully vaccinated people can hit those trails and leave the masks in the car.
There is a pretty significant portion of the population that has been vaccinated at this point, so it seems pretty good timing, said Ryan Johnson, community member.

COLORADO SPRINGS — As we work to rebound from the effects of the pandemic, the Colorado Ballet Society is back in action, helping bring the arts back to Colorado Springs and performing in front of live audiences.
It was a tough year for many of the ballerinas, but like so many of us, they learned a lot of lessons along the way.
“It was just definitely difficult, not being around the people I love most. Because I’m used to being with them for 6 hours a day sometimes every single day,” senior Gabi Vidano said.

Looking out to the dining room I am just like, oh my god we are back to this, said Jason Janson, bar manager at Atomic Cowboy.
Months of capacity limitations and restrictions, now over.
The needle that has gone away is the needle that is going in the right direction, said Janson.
These changes were announced last Tuesday when Governor Polis turned COVID-19 restrictions over to local governments.
