Estimant que l’élargissement de la campagne de vaccination contre la Covid-19 à 80% de la population constitue le seul moyen de prévention contre la propagation du Coronavirus notamment le variant Delta qui est le plus dangereux, le directeur général de l’Institut Pasteur d’Algérie (IPA), Fawzi Derrar; a fait savoir que cette opération et après plus de 5 mois de son lancement a atteint un taux de 10% seulement.
Appelant les citoyens à l’impératif de se faire vacciner, d’autant que les vaccins sont disponibles actuellement, Fawi Derrar a estimé que le taux atteint par cette opération, à savoir 10% seulement, ne permet pas d’endiguer la propagation du variant Delta, actuellement le plus répandu et le plus dangereux dans le monde, où une seule personne atteinte du variant peut contaminer 8 personnes, contrairement aux autres variants. D’où l’impératif, selon lui, d’inciter les citoyens à atteindre un taux de 80% à même de permettre de briser la chaîne de contamination et de faire face aux autres vagues. Il a tenu à rassurer les citoyens quant à l’efficacité des vaccins contre le virus et ses variants notamment ceux qui devront apparaître dans le futur.
