The B-21 Raider "continues to make progress" in flight testing and production, the U.S. Air Force said Wednesday.
The first B-21 is now flying test sorties from Edwards Air Force Base, where it arrived after its maiden flight late last year.
The B-21 Raider was developed to be the multifunctional backbone of the modernized bomber fleet, gradually replacing the aging B-1 Lancer and B-2 Spirit bombers now in service.
Northrop Grumman’s strategic stealth bomber aircraft, the B-21 Raider, has been developed to succeed the B-1 and B-2 fleets in the US Air Force service.
