Palm Beach County Health Director Dr. Alina Alonso updated commissioners Tuesday morning on the latest vaccinations in the county. Alonso said she was hoping that by now, the county would be entering into Phase 2 of distributing the vaccine. Alonso said that is not likely due to the limited supply of the vaccine coming from the federal government. We are getting a sufficient amount of the vaccine to finish our appointments that we have through Feb. 5, Alonso said. She said they have enough doses to administer booster shots. Alonso also said Palm Beach is one of four counties in the state where Publix Pharmacy will be the sole distributor of COVID-19 vaccines. “The governor made a choice to pick Palm Beach County to explore the pilot that he had going on with Publix.
