Drew Michael Taylor Foundation promotes grief support to the county

Waynesboro Record Herald
Ten months into the coronavirus pandemic, it’s likely that children and families are grieving the loss of loved ones more than ever.
One local foundation is hoping to step up to offer help for such needs, something that it did over a decade ago.
The Drew Michael Taylor Foundation, located in Shippensburg, provides grief education and support groups for kids and adults. Randy and Marcie Taylor started the foundation after the tragic death of their three-year-old son in 2006.
Following his death, Randy and Marcie were able to attend grief support sessions, but they could not find any nearby for their daughter, who was six at the time.

Chambersburg's Community Uniting delivers meals to frontline workers

The Market at Trickling Springs
So far, the group has organized the delivery of over 250 meals to healthcare workers at Chambersburg Wellspan Hospital. And the donations keep coming.
"We're already talking about maybe expanding to like to the urgent cares, other first responders and emergency health services," Grotberg said.
Grotberg also mentioned that suggestions have come up to offer the program to those struggling with food insecurity within the community.
The program seems to be a three-way win.
"Our friends at the hospital have been so appreciative of the treats they have received. Falafel Shack and fellow restaurants who participated in the program have enjoyed the boost in business and the opportunity to help," a statement from the restaurant read. "It is a win-win situation in a time where many feel helpless and eager to support their fellow community members. We are excited about the SHaRe program and hope it grows and branches out to be of help where it is most needed.""

come forward. and that's why you have the -- such a unique coalition. you have the american academy of pediatrics, the head of that saying this is basically tantamount to child abuse. you have the religious community uniting, catholic bishops, the methodist church, southern baptist convention all condemning this. and frankly, a lot of republican women with laura bush leading the way on this. i think are being made to feel very uncomfortable. and so, new york city political -- no, politically it's not going to play out well. d.h.s. is estimating we could get up to 20,000 by august being held like this. it is not going to be pretty once these facilities reach capacity and overcapacity given the conditions that they're already living in, sleeping on cement block floors that they are calling the ice box. >> kristen welker joins us now from the briefing room where sarah huckabee sanders' daily briefing has been pushed back
