Providence City Councilors passed an ordinance Thursday night for protecting the bike lanes on South Water Street.
The removal of the South Water Street bike path is one of several infrastructure changes slated to happen in light of the highway bridge closure. The mayor said a new bike lane would be added to the sidewalk.
