You haveassumptions beyond your level of comfort. have you reached any personal opinion as to whether this plane was on autopilot at the time prior to the crash? there s no question in my mind it was running on autopilot. again, we have very little clues as to where it was. 20,000 or 5,000 feet. as far as the flight path goes it s possible not only autopilot but this aircraft is very well trimable. you trim the aircraft to the best configuration even b without autopilot, potentially could fly for hundreds of miles without deviating from course. another of my naive questions. where was it going? presumably the coordinates put into the computer model didn t say let s crash in the southern indian ocean. it would have been to a spot, a airport. what airport? well, i think that at the time that it made the turn around, if following the ....

The regulators and permitters, they need to listen to the geologist and people that are trying to identify and quantify the hazards but that doesn t always happen because the voices of the landowners themself are often loud. i m not pointing fingers or laying blame. the blame lies in lack of a systemic system for ensuring that everybody is fully aware of the consequences. decisions they make and that s something we can work to fix. the danger isn t just to those homeowners and future homeowners but to the search effort. are you worried about rescuers on that site? i m worried but i think once a landslide failed at this point, it turned itself into a more stable configuration. there s still a potential for further failures but if there s a potential for finding survivors, i think that is a ....

A pod of whales or floating pallets or something? first of all, you have to look at geography. what is unusual about the size, the shape, the configuration and do they all clump together. while these images may be a little bit difficult to see in terms of the resolution. if you don t mind going to the other images as well. it does zoom in more. what i see is clearly white objects. this is also part of the problem. so some of these things here. exactly. the challenge is this. the ocean surface reflects light. so often times you ll see sunlight that reflects off of waves. and the satellite would see that too. sometimes a white object on a black image may show up. also a difficult problem when you get wind. yeah. so you get 15-foot waves and ....

Gives you a sense how many people could have been living in that area. and we continue to follow the other breaking news. the malaysian prime minister announcing live on television this morning that based on a new configuration of existing data, a brand-new theory and perhaps the most final theory, at least for the families, that that plane went down in the southern indian ocean. and with it, the people on board, as well. we re going to go live to beijing with reaction to how these families took that news, just after this. ....

from the standpoint of the elts not activating with the salt water, the slide rafts would have them in them. that for you is a big red flag, why those elts. we ve heard from a number of pilots today or folks we re actually going to have a piece about elts later on. a lot of people raising the question, the elts why didn t they go off because there are multiple ones. there is. and the slide rafts, i don t know how this airplane is configured. but there could be some that were in the overhead bins, too, strapped down. david gallo, excuse me david souci, are you skeptical about this debris given the amount of time? because of the amount of time, i m concerned if it was a wing, it s a tapered wing. and the center spars of that wing are very heavy compared to the tip of that wing. so the fact that it would be flat enough to be seen in that configuration concerns me a little bit. i would think that wing would have tilted toward the heavy side, which could keep it afloat but it woul ....
