The Central Coast, heavy rainfall will continue up and down the Central Coast today, especially up in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Big sur areas like this, bay area at the Northern Tier of a lot of this energy. But we are certainly seeing it. You see those yellow and orange pockets across much of the bay. Well start with the south bay and then work our way up the peninsula right now from san jose, santa clara over to sunnyvale in palo alto. We are seeing some heavier pockets of rain and its centered up right along 101. So youre dry between those cities on one is especially wet right now. Watch for some standing water on roads as rain falls been consistent this morning and at this point youll start to see it ponding a little bit as youre driving highway 84 from woodside up into the Santa Cruz Mountains, some heavy rain up there. And during the pursuit, he loses control of hits the curb. Hits a pole. Its a fire hydrant, sending thousands of gallons of water into the air for a short duration. And then he ultimately lands into a ditch. That dish was deep enough where they could not even use a tow truck to remove suv from it that they had to bring out an excavator tire chain around it. And then pulled it from the ditch before putting it on a flatbed truck. That officer was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Temperatures are currently in the low to mid 50s a mild start to the morning, but a wet start.
