Wilson, the officer who fatally shot the 18yearold, resigned from the Ferguson Police force. According to his lawyer, wilson tendered his resignation following Credible Threats to the Police Department and other officers. Ferguson mayor James Knowles says wilson will not receive severance or benefits as part of his resignation. The mayor also announced a civil can review board to monitor police conduct, as well as to recruit more africanamerican officers. The events in ferguson have crossed over into the world of sports.
