Employers have been creating jobs at a healthy clip for years, but today, just one day before the july employment report is set to be released, there were two setbacks for american workers. Firsttime applications for Unemployment Benefits rose by 3,000 last week to a seasonally adjusted 269,000. We also learned today that there was a rise in layoffs last month and tomorrow we may get answers to some pressing economic questions. Hampton pearson has more.
