Cornwall Council are carrying out safety improvements to the Mabe by-pass pedestrian refuge following the tragic death of Eka Schofield in 2022.

The proposals for Cliff Road On the northern side it is proposed to install a loading bay (at any time) to provide a dedicated facility for loading/unloading activities and to introduce a loading restriction between 8am and 7pm to prevent parking and loading where it might restrict visibility and the free flow of traffic. The no-waiting at any time restrictions proposed on the southern side of the road will restrict parking at all times but will not prevent vehicles from being able to stop to board/alight passengers.
