Heavy Storm Hits Thursday Afternoon

(RUTHERFORD COUNTY)  Heavy storms rumbled through Rutherford County in the 4:00 o'clock hour Thursday afternoon (7/28/2022).  Reports of some downed trees is the only significant result of the deluge that sounded like a war zone. 
Lisa Marchesoni with the Rutherford County Sheriffs Office noted, "Electrical lInes were down just before 1:00PM  on Asbury and Florence. Middle Tennessee Electric responded."
Despite the blowing storms, only one other power outage was reported. M . ....

Local Firefighters Help With Smoky Mountain Wildfires

(Sevier County, TN)  Local firefighters are helping with the wildfires in the Smoky Mountain areas of Sevier County in East Tennessee. Murfreesboro, La Vergne and Rutherford County all have fire fighters and equipment on the scene.
La Vergne Fire-Rescue Chief Ronny Beasley said, “We’ve been watching the operations in Wears Valley very closely. This has been a quick moving fire and as soon as a call for aid went out, we knew we had to help.”

Family Pets Perish in Detached Garage Fire on One Mile Road in Smyrna

 
Smyrna, TN — Rutherford County Fire Rescue (RCFR), Almaville Volunteer Fire Department, and Smyrna Fire Department responded to a structure fire on One Mile Road in Smyrna around 12:30 Monday afternoon. One Mile Road is between Almaville Road and Baker Road in Smyrna.
