A series of strong storms and tornadoes swept across parts of the South, and weather is blamed in at least two deaths in Georgia.
A man in Douglas County, west of Atlanta, died after a tree and power lines fell on his vehicle Monday morning, a county spokesman said.
In the community of Bonaire just southeast of Warner Robins, Carla Harris, 55, died after she was struck by a tree that fell on and through her home, the Houston County Emergency Management Agency said.

YAZOO CITY, Miss. (AP) — Severe storms spawning multiple tornadoes moved across the South on Monday, damaging homes and uprooting trees from Mississippi to West Virginia. A tornado spotted in Atlanta forced thousands to seek shelter, and one man was killed when a falling tree brought power lines onto his vehicle.
The motorist was pronounced dead after fire crews cut him from the vehicle in Douglasville, Georgia, west of Atlanta, Douglas County spokesman Rick Martin told reporters. And in middle Georgia, 55-year-old Carla Harris was killed after a tree fell onto her Bonaire home, Houston County emergency officials said.

Hail and high winds were buffeting north Texas Monday night. Just before midnight, three tractor-trailers flipped over on Interstate 35 south of Dallas in the driving rain.
The weather could include wind gusts of up to 70 mph (113 kph) and hail to the size of golf balls, forecasters said, noting that “tornadoes are likely Tuesday into Tuesday evening” in parts of Mississippi.
The risk follows heavy weather that moved across the South on Sunday and Monday, damaging homes and uprooting trees from Mississippi to West Virginia.

Severe storms in the South have left a trail of damage after spawning tornadoes, destructive winds and large hail across multiple states.
A possible tornado damaged semitrailers and vehicles on Interstate 35E near Waxahachie, Texas, on Monday night. At least three people were transported to a hospital from the scene, according to WFAA.com.

Shortly after 2 p.m. Monday, a damaging tornado was confirmed near Elberton, Georgia. It caused a warehouse to collapse, but no injuries were reported. The storm moved across the South Carolina state line, prompting tornado warnings in Abbeville County and into Greenwood, Laurens and Newberry counties. A second tornado was reported in Abbeville County about an hour later.

YAZOO CITY, Miss. — Much of the South is facing the risk of more severe weather Tuesday, forecasters say, after tornadoes struck parts of the region Sunday night and Monday, causing heavy damage in some parts of Mississippi, according to the Associated Press.
Parts of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee, as well as corners of Arkansas and Georgia are at enhanced risk for the worst weather, according to the national Storm Prediction Center. That zone is home to more than 11 million people and includes the cities of Nashville, Tennessee; Birmingham, Alabama; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and Jackson, Mississippi, forecasters said.
