Federal agents report confiscating 1,500 artifacts from them; things like burial beads and arrowheads. The artifacts were from the Antelope Creek Culture which was a group of Native Americans living in the Texas Panhandle sometime between 1200 and 1500 A.D. ....
During Thursday s virtual special session, the Amarillo Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Advisory Committee discussed Hike and Bike Master Plan subcommittee recommendations. Officials said the recommendations are slated to be presented to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and its Parks Master Plan consultants for further consideration. The Parks and Recreation Board is in the process of doing a holistic update to their overall Parks Master Plan, said Angela Harney, an Advisory Committee member who provided the overview. One of the main components is hiking and biking specifically trails. The Parks and Rec Department went out for public comment and there was an overwhelming response of people who really are clamoring for more trails and ways to recreate either walking or cycling. The Parks Department is engaging with a consultant to do an update of the overall master plan, which includes an update to our Hike and Bike Master Plan last updated in 2011. They want ....
