1/1 MORE than 100 Southampton care home residents with coronavirus have died in under a year, data has revealed. New figures from the Care Quality Commission have shown that between April 10, 2020, and March 31, 2021, a total of 123 "death notifications" involving Covid-19 were recorded at 21 of the city's care homes. Following the data's release, CQC bosses have called for "consideration and respect" to be shown to those living in care homes, as well as families and staff affected by loss. The South East proved to be one of the highest areas for deaths involving the virus in care homes as the CQC's data shows 7,404 death were recorded in the 11 month period.

There are many reasons crews will be setting off from the Solent on the Royal Ocean Racing Club’s premier event on 8 August other than to come first.
