Frontiers | The Impact of Hypermobile "Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome" and Hypermobile Spectrum Disorder on Interpersonal Interactions and Relationships - Vimarsana News

Frontiers | The Impact of Hypermobile "Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome" and Hypermobile Spectrum Disorder on Interpersonal Interactions and Relationships

Background: People with Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders are hampered in their social participation, especially in the social relationships they have. Objective: The aim of this study is to research the impact of hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) and Hypermobile Spectrum Disorders (HSD) on interpersonal interactions and relationships. Methods: A phenomenological hermeneutic study was performed. Semi-structured interviews were used to explore the experiences of 11 participants. Results: Four themes emerged from the data analysis. (1) people with hEDS or HSD c...

Frontiers | Late Permian to Late Triassic Large Igneous Provinces: Timing, Eruptive Style and Paleoenvironmental Perturbations - Vimarsana News

Frontiers | Late Permian to Late Triassic Large Igneous Provinces: Timing, Eruptive Style and Paleoenvironmental Perturbations

The emplacement of the Siberian Traps, the Central Atlantic Magmatic Province (CAMP) and the Wrangellia have been linked to end-Permian, end-Triassic mass extinctions, and to the Carnian Pluvial Episode (CPE), respectively. Exploring the timing, eruptive styles, and volatile degassing of these Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs) is crucial to understand their causal link to the catastrophic environmental crises that punctuated the Triassic. In this study we review the main characteristics of these LIPs, emphasizing common features and differences, and discussing aspects that are still in debate. Es...

Frontiers | The Recent Relationships Between Andean Ice-Core Dust Record and Madeira River Suspended Sediments on the Wet Season - Vimarsana News

Frontiers | The Recent Relationships Between Andean Ice-Core Dust Record and Madeira River Suspended Sediments on the Wet Season

Dust particle studies in ice cores from the tropical Andes provide important information about climate dynamics. We investigated dust concentrations from a 22.7 m ice-core recovered from the Quelccaya Ice Cap (QIC) in 2018, representing 14 years of snow accumulation. The dust seasonality signal was still preserved with homogenization of the record due to surface melting and percolation. Using a microparticle counter, we measured the dust concentration from 2–60 μm and divided the annual dust concentration into three distinct groups: fine particle percentage (FPP, 2−10 μm), coarse particl...

Frontiers | An Assessment of Glacier Inventories for the Third Pole Region - Vimarsana News

Frontiers | An Assessment of Glacier Inventories for the Third Pole Region

Glacier inventory is the basic data for hydrological, water resources and climate change research. Glacier inventories have been created for the Third Pole Region (TPR) or high Asia, yet they are different in coverage area and vary largely in quality. It is thus necessary to assess their quality in order to provide information for potential users to choose the right glacier inventories. Using the analytic hierarchy process, this study selects eight assessment factors and assesses the comprehensive quality of eight glacier inventories of the TPR by grading. The assessment results indicate that ...

Frontiers | Molecular Bases of Heat Stress Responses in Vegetable Crops With Focusing on Heat Shock Factors and Heat Shock Proteins - Vimarsana News

Frontiers | Molecular Bases of Heat Stress Responses in Vegetable Crops With Focusing on Heat Shock Factors and Heat Shock Proteins

The effects of the climate change including an increase in the average global temperatures, and abnormal weather events such as frequent and severe heatwaves are emerging as a worldwide ecological concern due to their impacts on plant vegetation and crop productivity. In this review, the molecular processes of plants in response to heat stress—from the sensing of heat stress, the subsequent molecular cascades associated with the activation of heat shock factors and their primary targets (heat shock proteins), to the cellular responses—have been summarized with an emphasis on the classifica...
