The pretty archipelago of Malta is aiming to attract holidaymakers this summer by offering financial incentives to visitors. Those who take advantage of the offer will be able to enjoy its prehistoric temples, hidden coves, scuba-diving and walking tracks.
Malta Tourism Authority is hoping to attract 35,000 visitors through its Incentives for Free Independent Travellers scheme, and it has allocated â¬3.5m ($4.2m) towards the program. The European island nation hopes that the scheme will incentivise independent travelers visiting the Maltese Islands for a minimum of three nights to directly book their holiday stays in five-, four- and three-star hotels.
