Hong Seng partners Pow Pocket for Johor immigration registration platform


s unit HS Bio Sdn Bhd has entered into a joint venture with Pow Pocket Sdn Bhd to undertake tender awards from the Johor state government.
According to Hong Seng s filing with Bursa Malaysia, Pow Pocket s Jengu platform operates a web portal, johortravelsafe.my, which has the capability to register travellers into and out of Johor.
The platform is currently being utilised for the arrangement of medical screening of Covid-19 via the Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction testing and Antigen Rapid Test Kit for such travellers.
Via the Jengu platform, the joint venture company, Neogenix Sdn Bhd, will tender for the provision of online registration of inbound travellers for medical screening at immigration points at the Sultan Iskandar Buildings located at the northern end of the Johor-Singapore Causeway and Sultan Abu Bakar Complex at the northern end of the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link. ....

The state Mentri Besar said the government was targeting to register at least 100,000 Malaysians who have jobs in the island republic.
We expect to roll out vaccinations for Malaysian workers during the second phase of the National Covid-19 Immunisation programme.
It is estimated that there are about 400,000 Malaysians who travel daily for work there.
