The United States Department of Justice filed a lawsuit Thursday to try and break up Live Nation, the parent company of Ticketmaster, over what it is calling a violation of antitrust laws.
Colorado has joined a justice department federal lawsuit against Ticketmaster and Live Nation Entertainment along with nearly 30 other states, Attorney General Phil Weiser said, alleging a ticketing and booking monopoly that has harmed consumers.
The lawsuit was being brought with 30 state and district attorneys general and seeks to break up the monopoly they say is squeezing out smaller promoters and hurting artists.
