Those annoying auto warranty robocalls won't be coming from a group of Broward County companies if the defendants honor the lifetime ban they agreed to in a lawsuit settlement with the Federal Trade Commission. American Vehicle Protection Corp., formerly based in Pompano Beach and Fort Lauderdale, was charged with falsely claiming to be affiliated with vehicle makers, and deceptively claiming that their products, which cost thousands of dollars, offered "bumper-to-bumper" protection.
