Credit Niagara County Public Health Director Daniel Stapleton said 5,000 doses of the newly approved Johnson & Johnson vaccine are expected to be delivered, along with 1,500 Moderna doses. With the large allocation expected, the county will not transfer its Point of Dispensing clinic from the Kenan Center in Lockport to Gratwick Fire Hose Company Number 6 in North Tonawanda next week, as originally announced. New vaccine appointments will not be accepted until after the county receives the vaccines. Tags:

To think that drive-ins were becoming extinct just a few months ago is crazy considering all the things that we have been able to use them for since the pandemic began here in the United States. WBFO's Michael Mroziak reports. Nursing homes and hospitals in Niagara County are already distributing the COVID vaccine through federal and state programs. The county itself will begin its own Point of Dispensing sites, or PODS, beginning next Tuesday. The drive-through operation will first serve healthcare personnel who have direct contact with patients.
