Review: Its delayed release cannot dull the power of Tom Sullivan’s excellent Famine drama
ARRACHT is an Irish Gaelic drama, set in 1845, in which a fisherman struggles to survive the Great Famine.
Ratings info(May contain spoilers) There is use of strong language ('f**k'), along with terms such as 'feck' and 'bollocks'. There is a scene in which an adult male character tries to trade food for sexual favours with a teenage girl, and advances towards her and then touches her face in a threatening manner until she manages to escape. In several scenes a father slaps his children. There is a sequence in which a pregnant woman is shoved to the ground and seriously injured by another character, leading to a fight which includes the breaking of said character's leg bone.
