KL-based Macva Committee Members literally ‘ go the extra-mile’ to pay tribute to Chin.

LIKE a peer review, ex-naval captain Dato Lee Kwang Lock lavished tributes to WW2 Force 136 officer 1st Lieutenant Datuk Chin Phui Kong, as “a war hero and legend” deserving their highest in-house honour.

ASKED what she thought of Chin’s involvement in Force 136 as a secret agent, retired Army Lieutenant Colonel of the Royal Intelligence Corps and Macva Vice President, Carol Loo Lee Fum, said:  “To me it’s a sacrifice for him because to join Force 136 those days, they were a special breed, just equivalent to our commandos, they were well trained to penetrate the enemy front line, so it’s equally dangerous and I respect Datuk Chin for being able to carry out the task and today, he being the only surviving Force 136 in Malaysia and he is celebrating his 100th birthday...
