DSP Hajiji’s key note address at SIBES [Sabah International Business & Economic Summit] on 17th January 2022 has spurred substantial interest among some investors and many Sabahans, especially in the business community. It is like the first fresh spring wind cleansing away the stale air of Sabah’s 30 plus years of economic stagnancy. Fishery has vast exciting potentials as Sabah has retrieved the approval authority over deep sea fishing licencing from KL. Their preliminary objectives are [a] To harness synergies among young Sabahans for their self-development in business/professions and contribute towards Sabah’s economic development. [b] To strengthen the economic bond among young Sabahans everywhere. [c] To encourage and assist young Sabahan returnees from other states in Malaysia and other countries. [d] To create new business and introduce up to date technologies and systems to Sabah. [e] In line with Sabah’s racial and religious harmony, the group will abstain from political and religious discussions ....
2021 is over. Much already done to reset Sabah’s economy, lots more to do to put Sabah back to long term stable economic growth after decades in limbo in 2022 ....
